April, 2008
Hello
My name is John Gililland . I have been playing golf for 50 years and have been a playing and teaching professional for 16 years. I have also been a custom home builder for 8 years, and as you may know that is not the best profession to be in in 2007-08!
So I’ve decided to start building a new business teaching the game I have loved all my life. I have studied under several great teachers (Jack Mann, Jackie Cupit, Hank Haney) and recently completed Hank Haney’s Teach The Teacher Seminar. I have also spent several years studying the mental side of golf. I have a unique perspective on how the golf mind works and I am anxious to pass this information on to my students. I know you will find this information interesting, exciting and invaluable to your game!
It’s April. Spring has sprung. The golf bug is biting. Whether you are a beginner, want to tune up your game for the summer, or want to take your game to the next level, I am ready to help you achieve your golf goals. And I promise to go the extra mile to show you how to have fun and improve your game.
My Phone # is 214-288-8561.

I’m ready when you are!

Introduction To Complete Golf Game
I started playing golf when I was 9 years old. I became a professional golfer 16 years ago and I became a student of the mind, and how it is used to play golf, 11 years ago. I am convinced that I could have been a great golfer if I had been taught, 40 years ago, what I have learned in the last 11!
I spent the first 40 years thinking the secret to good golf was a perfect swing. I studied under several great teachers and I learned the mechanics of the swing. I know how to hit a golf ball. I was a pretty good player and had some small success on the mini tours. When I turned 50 I played in the senior tour qualifying three years in a row. I came close to making the second stage qualifier once. But despite a mechanically sound swing, short game and putting stroke, I was not able to be consistently competitive with the top players.
One of the things I discovered is that having a serviceable swing is important, but the secret, “what the big boys know“, is how to get the best out of what they have! They seemed to have a way of thinking that produced the results they were looking for. The best way I’ve found to describe this way of thinking is they seemed to be haveing fun and they seemed to know HOW to let whatever happens be ok. I was often told what I should be thinking or why I should be thinking something, but no one ever told me HOW “thinking” works. Once I understood HOW the mental process works, all the what’s and why’s finally began to make sense.
Today I know how to play golf. I have fun every time I play, and my game is still improving. I have learned how to handle the adversities (and all the emotions that go with them) that kept me from moving to the next level. I am playing as well as I did 30 years ago and I’ll soon be 61. What I have learned about the “mental game” not only changed my golf game, it also changed my life. (If only I had learned this stuff 40 years ago!)
There is a price to pay to learn these principles and techniques, some work to be done. But if you find you are unhappy with where your game is now, or can't seem to move to the next level, you are already paying an emotional price for that! Once you learn this new way of running you golfing mind, your game, and maybe other things in your life, will change in ways you can not imagine now. And I promise to go the extra mile to show anyone who is interested HOW these principles and techniques work
Completegolfgame.com will be my vehicle for teaching what I have learned about the game I love. I will be teaching swing mechanics. But I will also be teaching a way of thinking that will allow you to get the most out of whatever game you have now. I have spent untold hours and considerable dollars learning the physical and mental mechanics of golf. And I have also learned a way of teaching it that I know you will find unique and interesting. Click on the topics in the right hand column for an introduction to the course.
If you want to have fun and be successful at golf, at whatever level, you have to learn both mind and body. If you love golf and want to get the most out of your game, I know you will find this information interesting and exciting. It is the only way to have a complete golf game!
